SUMMER 2012: HOMEWORK
- Between now and September I want you all to, make sure that your coursework is complete and up to date, work on three case ideas for your project and some further research about materials and manufacturing processes.
- Two ideas need to be sketched and one idea is to be completed on Google Sketch Up (which is free design software). You must use lots of sketches using 2d and 3d drawing styles. Most importantly annotate your ideas referring to your specification and design brief. This can all be put on one page (two maximum) in your powerpoint.
- You need to research the following materials and manufacturing methods - Woods - pine, mdf, plywood. Plastics - HIPS, ABS, Acrylic, EPVC. Vacuum Forming, Plug and Yoke Press Forming and Injection Moulding.
- Infrormation can be found on the Controlled Assessment - 2nd Section powerpoint.
Lastly;
You need to try to complete your Question books between now and the gcse exam in order to make sure you understand all the topics covered in the exam.
October Half Term Homework - Design ConstraintsYou need to complete one powerpoint slide in essay format with pictures, which answers all of the points in the files to the right.
Also research around the environmental impact of your project? What materials will you use and are they sustainable? Which manufacturing process is it sustainable? etc. |
